Reason: He and his family were on an outing to Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple in India seven months after his accident. He was watching his cousins play in a sacred pond when his father encouraged him to join them. “I had learned swimming when I had both my hands, but I didn’t find it too different or difficult to swim even without them. My father was a state-level swimmer, so I was always determined to do something in swimming. My father saw me swim again, and I could see the happiness in his eyes.
