Reason: He and his family were on an outing to Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple in India seven months after his accident. He was watching his cousins play in a sacred pond when his father encouraged him to join them. “I had learned swimming when I had both my hands, but I didn’t find it too different or difficult to swim even without them. My father was a state-level swimmer, so I was always determined to do something in swimming. My father saw me swim again, and I could see the happiness in his eyes. It was he who took the initiative to know everything about Para swimming and pushed me to pursue it professionally.” (thebridge.in, 19 Aug 2021; sakaltimes.com, 27 Oct 2018; livemint.com, 03 Aug 2016)
