How to unlock Apple Cash account

If your account is limited or blocked, it might be for a short time until you prove who you are, or while Apple checks things out.

Verify your identity for Apple Cash account

• iPhone: Open the Wallet app, then tap your Apple Cash card.
• iPad: Open the Settings app, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.
• Apple Watch: Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.

Tap Verify Identity, then follow the onscreen steps. Make sure the personal information you enter during identity verification is accurate.

Apple Cash account in review.

If your Apple Cash account is being reviewed, certain limitations apply. During this review period, you won’t be able to send or receive money using Apple Cash, nor can you add funds to your account.

Additionally, if your account is locked while under review, you won’t be able to transfer money to your bank or make purchases using Apple Pay.

The review process typically takes up to 2 business days.

Once the review is finished, your account will either become active again, or you’ll receive a message on your Apple Cash card indicating your account status.

Apple Cash account is restricted.

Your account could get limited if Apple can’t verify your identity after several tries, if there are many accounts linked to your SSN, or if Apple suspect any fraud happening on your account.

If your account gets limited, don’t worry, you can still move your Apple Cash money to your bank or use it to buy things with Apple Pay. But during this time, you won’t be able to send or receive money, or put more money into your account.

Apple Cash account in locked.

Your account might get locked if there’s any suspicion of fraud or if Apple need to perform additional security checks. When your account is locked, you won’t be able to use Apple Cash to make purchases, send or receive money, add money to your account, or transfer money to your bank.
